Hi, I'm Moses!
I am a recent graduate from Stanford University, graduating with a B.S. in Ocean Engineering and Design. My self-designed major blends both mechanical design and environmental engineering with a specific focus on coastal ecosystems. In creating my own academic path, I have been able to bring together my passion for engineering, nature, and the ocean. Growing up close to both Tahoe and Santa Cruz, I have grown fascinated with how we can design solutions that work in harmony with natural systems.
Outside of school, sports were a huge part of my childhood — I played just about everything growing up. By the time I entered high school, I chose to focus on volleyball, a decision that shaped much of who I am today. The sport has introduced me to some of my closest friends and connected me with coaches and mentors who've influenced every aspect of my life. I earned a scholarship to play Division I volleyball at Stanford, where I was the starting opposite hitter for the past three seasons. I was also been named to the MPSF All-Academic Team for the past three years, balancing the demands of athletics and academics.
After graduation, I plan to work in ocean engineering. I'm excited by the opportunity to apply engineering principles to solve environmental challenges in marine and coastal systems.
When I'm not in the gym training for volleyball or working in the lab, you'll usually find me outside — rock climbing, biking, or playing guitar with friends. I love staying active, with the outdoors always being a source of inspiration for both my personal life and academic work.
